Venetian Snares - Rossz Csillag Alatt Született

Artist: Venetian Snares
Album: Rossz Csillag Alatt Született
Year: 2005
Genre(s): Breakcore

Along the lines of My Downfall (Original Soundtrack), Rossz Csillag Alatt Született combines avant-classical elements with breakcore here to create a beautiful, well-composed, moving album. I cannot recommend this excellent album enough.

One Year

The Big Dipster is officially one year old as of today. Thank you everyone for your support! We have acknowledged that this June has been a slow month, The posts will start to pick back up soon.

Expect other minor improvements as well.

The Rita - Snorkel/Skate

Artist: The Rita
Album: Snorkel/Skate
Year: 2009
Genre(s): Noise, harsh noise wall

Most sites have this labeled as Skate/Snorkel, which is incorrect if you look at the side of the LP jacket. Snorkel is made of samples from horror diving movies and Skate is made up of samples of a skateboard grinding on a rail. Enjoy.

Oscillating Innards - Irretrievable

Artist: Oscillating Innards
Album: Irretrievable

Harsh shit that doesn't sacrifice atmosphere for its heaviness. This is a 7" limited to 300 copies. I ripped mine. The second side is supposed to be two tracks but I didn't separate them. Enjoy.

Can't - Private Time (Part 2)

Artist: Can't
Album: Private Time (Part 2)
Year: 2008
Genre(s): Noise

I really hate when the largest album art out there is 170x170. Oh well. Here's an image of Jessica Rylan (aka Can't) which actually appears on the cover. Go figure. Anyway, Can't creates some semi-harsh rhythmic cool noise, and Private Time (Part 2) is actually a pretty damn solid release. Hey Puritan was a really surprising track in that it's not noise; it's more an actual song where she plays guitar and sings for five minutes. So although a noise project, Can't sometimes crosses the bridge between what we consider noise and what we consider music, and these are often the best and most original moments in her work. Enjoy.

I saw the Melvins a week ago yesterday at the Double Door in Chicago, and it was definitely one of the most impressive shows I've ever been to. The first set was Eggnog and Lysol played all the way through (though not in order) and the second set consisted of Houdini. Here's Eggnog.
