Not radically different, but there is an absolutely sick version of Luna on here that isn't on the Japanese one.

Boris - Attention Please

Artist: Boris
Album: Attention Please
Year: 2011
Genre(s): Stoner rock

This is a bit of a mellow one for Boris. Guitarist Wata sings on every track. This is being released at the same time as the second Heavy Rocks album, and on first listen isn't quite as impressive to me, but is still good. I really liked the title track. Anyway, check it out yourself.

Boris - Heavy Rocks II

Artist: Boris
Album: Heavy Rocks II
Year: 2011
Genre(s): Metal, stoner metal, drone

I'm much more impressed with the two new Boris albums that just leaked than I was at first with New Album (though admittedly New Album grew on me). This is the best of the two new albums, in my opinion. It's just called Heavy Rocks but I'm labeling it Heavy Rocks II because, if you know Boris at all, they already have an album called Heavy Rocks and for some reason just reused the name (and the album art, besides being purple instead of orange, is really similar too). Hope you enjoy.

Boris - New Album

Artist: Boris
Album: New Album
Year: 2011
Genre(s): Metal, pop

One of three new Boris albums, this one released in Japan only, this album is a bit of a surprise. It's a lot more poppy, electronic, and polished than anything they've done before. Interesting, but a hell of a lot different than, say, Amplifier Worship or Flood or the rest of their discography.

Boris With Merzbow - Klatter

Artist: Boris With Merzbow
Album: Klatter
Year: 2011
Genre(s): Stoner metal, psychedelic, noise rock

The new collaboration between Boris and Merzbow, Klatter, is a reinterpretation of three songs from Boris's Akuma No Uta, an original, and a cover. This is mostly Boris; it feels like Merzbow hardly does anything on it. Still good, though. Expect more Boris in the near future. Three new Boris full-lengths are on the way within the next couple months (New Album, Attention Please, and Heavy Rocks, which is not to be confused with their previous release of the same name; it is not a reissue but an entirely new album using the same title). Anyway, to give credit to the source, I had found this on Angrychairs, another good blog you should probably check from time to time.

Boris - Variations

Artist: Boris
Album: Variations
Year: 2010
Genre(s): Stoner rock, psychedelic, drone, experimental

So, before you get disappointed, I'll tell you flat-out that this isn't really "new" Boris. It's more of a greatest hits, although several songs have been re-recorded to showcase Michio Kurihara and Farewell appears in its full version for the first time on CD. It focuses on Heavy Rocks through Smile era Boris, so you don't really get all the early heavy stuff, but that's all right I guess. If you buy it, this comes with a DVD of them performing live in Japan. So you should try to get an actual copy.

Either way, here's Variations.
