Melvins - Eggnog

Artist: Melvins
Album: Eggnog
Year: 1991
Genre(s): Sludge, metal, experimental

I saw the Melvins a week ago yesterday at the Double Door in Chicago, and it was definitely one of the most impressive shows I've ever been to. The first set was Eggnog and Lysol played all the way through (though not in order) and the second set consisted of Houdini. Here's Eggnog.

Melvins - Honky

Artist: Melvins
Album: Honky
Year: 1997
Genre(s): Metal, experimental, avant-garde

Perhaps the most experimental full-length album ever released by the Melvins, Honky isn't for everybody; however it has over time become probably my personal favorite. Mombius Hibachi captures the essence of classic Melvins with a hint of more strangeness than usual, and most other tracks really take it over the top. A ballsy album. Not easy listening, but rather interesting listening.
